Because somewhere along the way, our media stopped informing the Black community and started shilling for the Democratic Party. This is unacceptable.
Milwaukee’s Black media doesn’t “lean Democrat.” It serves the Democratic Party faithfully, predictably, and without shame.
I’ve been watching, listening, and reading every Black media outlet in Milwaukee, every show, every article, every broadcast, every newspaper. I owe it to myself to understand what my community is talking about.
I kept hoping that one day, someone would break script and offer a shred of balanced reporting.
They don’t debate you, they discipline you. Because their job isn’t to inform Black voters. Their job is to manufacture consent.
And they do it with the same three‑ingredient recipe every single day, fear, guilt and identity policing. That’s not commentary. That’s psychological conditioning.
They don’t challenge power, they shield it. They don’t expose corruption, they excuse it.They don’t inform listeners, they indoctrinate them.
Every broadcast is a sermon:
“Republicans are the devil. Democrats are your saviors. Don’t think too hard.”
It’s not news.
It’s obedience training.
Black media in this day and age are keeping Black voters uninformed, emotionally triggered, and politically obedient.
There’s no curiosity. No accountability. No intellectual diversity, just a nonstop loop of Democratic rhetoric talking points dressed up as “community advocacy.”
And when you dare to challenge it? When you call in, write in, comment respectfully? You get hostility, anger, and condescension, not because your point is wrong, but because your point threatens the script.
One conservative voice in a sea of Democrats. Former candidate for Lt Governor, Will Martin is on WNOV’s 860 am “The Difference.” It is the only breath of fresh air in the entire landscape. One voice willing to step outside the Democratic bubble. (Thursdays from 11 am to noon.)
Yet Will is surrounded by hosts who act like unofficial Democratic Party spokespeople, angry, defensive, and allergic to anything that challenges their worldview.
Black media has stopped valuing Black people. If Black media valued the Black community, they would, hold leaders accountable, question failing policies, investigate outcomes, and promote for change. All they have to do is take a look around them. The ghetto is right outside their window.
Instead, they protect the same leaders who have presided over the worst racial disparity gap in the country. Public schools where kids can’t read past 4th‑grade levels. Reckless driving chaos. Teen takeovers, drug‑soaked neighborhoods and revolving‑door sentencing.
Where is the outrage? Where is the suggestions to make Milwaukee better? Where is the journalism?
Nowhere, because the media is too busy carrying water for politicians who haven’t delivered meaningful results.
For example, Under the Democratic Representative Gwen Moore in Milwaukee: MPS collapsed academically, Black‑white disparities widened, Public safety deteriorated. Neighborhoods suffered, Generations of kids were left behind.
And yet she keeps getting reelected, not because of results, but because Black media refuses to ask the most basic question, what has she actually done?
“Blue no matter who” Is political suicide.
Voting “blue no matter who” is not empowerment, it’s surrender.
Black media keeps telling us to vote the same way, for the same people, with the same outcomes, and somehow expect a different result.
That’s not progress. That’s just plain dumb as hell.
And the worst part? They shame anyone who dares to think differently. They silence dissent. They treat conservative Black voices like enemies instead of partners.
Should conservative voices even bother with Black media? Will they invite Tom Tiffany on their shows or newspapers?
I’m torn and rightfully so. On one hand, stepping into hostile territory shows courage. On the other, these outlets often frame conservative viewpoints as threats rather than contributions.
But here’s the truth, Black media does not own the Black community. They do not own our minds. They do not own our vote. They do not own our future. They’re just loud. And loud doesn’t equal right.
Black media is holding us back, By refusing to present balanced information, Black media is dumbing down the community, shielding failed leadership blocking new ideas, steady accountability and keeping us politically stagnant.
It’s a waste, a tragic waste of a platform that could uplift, educate, empower, and transform.
Instead, it maintains the status quo.
And the status quo is failing us.
Because if Black voters ever connected the dots between who actually runs Milwaukee and how Milwaukee actually looks, the political loyalty would crack overnight.
So the media keeps the lights dim. On purpose.
