Democrats who still can’t admit that only women can get pregnant are circulating a bill that would mandate dental coverage for ‘pregnant people’
A year after Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers became an international laughingstock for repeatedly referring to pregnant women as “inseminated persons” in his 2025-2027 state budget, legislative Democrats are still unable to admit that only women can get pregnant.
Representative Sheila Stubbs and Senator LaTonya Johnson on Thursday circulated for co-sponsorship a bill that is “related to dental services for pregnant persons.”

“This bill will ensure that low-income pregnant people can access dentists in a timely and adequate manner,” the authors said in their co-sponsorship memo.
The bill is part of the broader Wisconsin Birth Equity Act, a Democrat proposal that would target perceived racial disparities in maternal care by dramatically increasing entitlement programs such as Medicaid. It has little chance of passing the Republican-controlled Legislature.
Stubbs’ and Johnson’s bill is notable, though, as it continues the yearlong trend of Wisconsin Democrats using gender-neutral euphemisms for “mothers” or “pregnant women.”
Last February, Governor Evers became the subject of widespread mockery when his proposed budget sought to replace the phrase “pregnant women” with “inseminated persons” in Wisconsin statutes.
