Emily Nolan-Plutchak took to TikTok to deny her endorsement of radical left-wing Supreme Court candidate Chris Taylor.
Wood County Circuit Judge Emily Nolan-Plutchak posted a video on TikTok and Facebook denouncing her endorsement of Court of Appeals Judge Chris Taylor, a liberal candidate for the Wisconsin Supreme Court. She sought to distance herself from partisan politics ahead of the April 7 election.
In the video, shared via a Facebook link and circulating on TikTok, Nolan-Plutchak denied support for Taylor. She said her name was listed without her knowledge or consent and emphasized her commitment to impartiality on the bench in Wood County, a rural area that voted overwhelmingly for Trump in the 2024 presidential election.
Nolan-Plutchak was appointed by Democratic Gov. Tony Evers on July 9, 2025, to fill a vacancy and became the first woman to serve as a circuit court judge in Wood County. Her term expires July 31, 2026. She is running for a full six-year term against former Republican District Attorney Elizabeth Gebert.
Before taking the bench, Nolan-Plutchak worked as an assistant state public defender and local attorney manager in Wood and Adams counties for 18 years, handling more than 2,500 cases involving criminal, juvenile, and civil matters. She has served on the Wood County Adult Drug Treatment Court team since 2007 and was board president of the Wisconsin Association of Treatment Court Professionals from 2017 to 2019.
Her judicial application, filed with the Wisconsin Justice Initiative, listed extensive volunteer work for Democratic candidates and organizations spanning more than 25 years:
- College Democrats at UW-Stevens Point, member, 1999-2000
- College Democrats at UW-Madison, member, 2000-2002
- Tammy Baldwin for U.S. House, volunteer, 1999
- Al Gore for President, volunteer, 2000
- Jim Doyle for Governor, volunteer, 2003 and 2008

We at Heartland Post reported that Nolan-Plutchak had endorsed liberal candidate Taylor, highlighting her background amid broader concerns about judicial philosophy in conservative counties, like the story of soft-on-crime liberal judge Jessica Fehrenback, who issued a stayed sentence for a felon who committed murder on Water Street in Milwaukee just four days later.
