The Recombobulation Area reported Wednesday that sources say Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley will endorse Lt. Governor Sara Rodriguez in the Democratic primary for Wisconsin governor.
The scoop came hours after Crowley released a statement ending his own campaign. He becomes the second Democrat to exit the race after Missy Hughes suspended her bid last month and backed Rodriguez.
Crowley is expected to make an official statement, formalizing the endorsement on July 9. The move may signal that Democrats may be consolidating support around Rodriguez ahead of the Aug. 11 primary.
