Milwaukee County Executive and gubernatorial candidate David Crowley posted a video attacking the gold medal-winning USA hockey team over a phone call from President Trump.
In the clip, Crowley referenced a phone call in which FBI Director Kash Patel connected the team to Trump as they celebrated their medal in the locker room following the game. Trump joked about needing to invite the women’s gold-medal team to his State of the Union Address to avoid issues, prompting laughter from team members.
“That moment tells you everything about how they see women. In sports. In the Capitol. Everywhere,” Crowley said, then linking this attitude to Republican gubernatorial candidate Tom Tiffany and accusing him of undermining women’s rights on abortion, the SAVE Act, and even support for women veterans.
Crowley then virtue-signaled his position as a champion of women’s rights, health care, and accomplishments as governor, framing them as “not jokes.”
The post, shared Monday, drew mixed reactions from users. Crowley supporters naturally praised the video, while critics noted that Crowley himself recently failed on the issue of women’s health care by failing to extend Milwaukee County’s health insurance contract, leading to nearly-monthlong gap in coverage for all employees and retirees.
