A Milwaukee Police officer was shot in the leg and injured while attempting to chase down and arrest a homicide suspect near N. 37th St. and N. Wright St. Tuesday evening.
Sources tell the Heartland Post that a man jumped out of the vehicle officers were chasing and opened fire, striking one of the officers in the leg. That officer is expected to survive but his or her condition is not yet known.
The officers returned fire, striking the suspect and killing him. The driver of the car the officers were pursuing took off and remains on the loose.
