Maria Lazar and Chris Taylor will debate at 7:00 pm Wednesday night in their only debate ahead of the April 7th election.
Wisconsin Supreme Court candidates Maria Lazar and Chris Taylor meet tonight for the only debate in their race to fill an open seat on the Court.
Moderated by “Upfront” hosts Matt Smith and Gerron Jordan, the debate airs live at 7 p.m. Wednesday tonight from the Marquette University Law School and will air on WISN 12 in Milwaukee, with statewide coverage on WBAY in Green Bay and other stations including WKOW, WXOW, WQOW and WAOW.
It will stream live on the WISN 12 app, the station’s Facebook and YouTube pages.
A Marquette University Law School poll released Tuesday showed most Wisconsinites are still tuning out the race. Among registered voters, 53 percent remained undecided, with Taylor at 23 percent and Lazar at 17 percent. Seven percent said they would not vote.
Even among likely voters, a majority stayed on the fence, though Taylor held a narrow edge in the sample. Republicans broke heavily for Lazar at 30 percent to Taylor’s 6 percent, while independents leaned slightly toward Taylor.
The survey underscored low name recognition and limited engagement just two weeks before the April 7th election, giving both candidates a final chance to make their case.
