Republican candidate Eric Toney raised more than $720,000 during the first six months of the 2026 election year, according to campaign finance reports.
This amount is the highest raised by any Republican attorney general candidate and by any non-incumbent during this reporting period.
Since launching his campaign, Toney has raised over $1.1 million, exceeding the total from his 2022 run for the same office. These totals exclude transfers from the state Republican Party.
This fundraising milestone comes as Toney, a 14-year district attorney and former president of the Wisconsin District Attorneys Association, campaigns on a public safety platform against incumbent Democrat Josh Kaul.
Toney has received bipartisan endorsements from over half of Wisconsin’s sheriffs, the Milwaukee Police Association, and other law enforcement groups. He was named 2024 Wisconsin District Attorney of the Year and received an Unsung Hero award from the Wisconsin Law Journal for bipartisan budget efforts that improved public safety resources.
This record fundraising gives Toney’s campaign significant resources to promote its message of removing partisan politics from the attorney general’s office and prioritizing law enforcement ahead of the November election.
