Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback and current CBS Sports analyst Tony Romo was arrested Thursday night on suspicion of operating while intoxicated after failing field sobriety tests, according to the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office.
Romo, 46, was pulled over around 8 p.m. while driving southbound on Interstate 43. Deputies said he performed poorly on standard field sobriety tests and was taken into custody. He was booked on a first-offense OWI charge and later released. A court date has been scheduled for Sept. 21.
No blood-alcohol content level has been publicly released.
Romo, a Burlington native who graduated from Burlington High School, was in the Milwaukee area competing in the Wisconsin Amateur Championship at West Bend Country Club. He finished the tournament tied for 73rd place with a four-round total of 319 (79-78-80-82).
