The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point has scrubbed Paige Ostroushko from its soccer team’s roster after her arrest on suspicion of violently attacking a conservative journalist during an anti-ICE protest Saturday.
The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point has quietly scrubbed sophomore soccer player Paige Ostroushko from its official women’s soccer roster page following her arrest on suspicion of violently assaulting a conservative journalist, but the school has issued no public statement on her status with the team.
Ostroushko, a forward/midfielder from Prior Lake, Minn., appeared on the 2025 roster as recently as this week but is no longer listed on the athletics website. She played in seven matches last season, starting six and scoring three goals.
University officials did not respond to requests for comment on whether she remains on the team, has been suspended or faces disciplinary action under the student-athlete handbook.
The move comes after Ostroushko was arrested on disorderly conduct charges following a confrontation at an anti-ICE protest in Minneapolis. Video footage widely circulated online shows her blowing a whistle in the ear of Turning Point USA reporter Savanah Hernandez before allegedly shoving and striking her. Ostroushko’s mother, father and boyfriend were also detained in the incident.
There There have been widespread calls for her immediate removal from the team, as the handbook clearly prohibits violence and “harmful behaviors.” The policy states such conduct “is NEVER okay” and “will NOT be tolerated,” with violators subject to dismissal from the team or expulsion.
UW-Stevens Point has remained silent as public pressure mounts. The lack of transparency stands in contrast to swift actions often taken in similar high-profile cases involving student-athletes. Ostroushko reportedly deleted her Instagram account after the videos surfaced.
As of Tuesday, no updates had been posted on the team’s site or social media regarding roster changes or investigations.
