Vice President JD Vance will travel to Plover Thursday to highlight the economic successes President Trump outlined in his State of the Union Address Tuesday night.
Plover lies in a competitive congressional district represented by Republican Derrick Van Orden, making it a key battleground for maintaining the party’s House majority.
Van Orden’s office says he will join Vance as the two tour a machining facility.
A spokesperson for Vance indicated the vice president will emphasize gains for American workers, including rising wages, declining inflation, and improved conditions compared to the prior administration under President Joe Biden. Vance, who campaigned extensively in Wisconsin during the 2024 election cycle, has made multiple prior visits to the state, including stops in Wausau, Racine, Milwaukee, and Eau Claire.
The White House has not released full details on the event’s timing or public access.
