The National Federation of Independent Business’ Wisconsin political arm endorsed Republican Tom Tiffany for governor Tuesday, adding one of the state’s leading small-business advocacy groups to his coalition.
The NFIB Wisconsin PAC announced its endorsement of Tiffany, saying the congressman has built a record of supporting small businesses and would bring a pro-business approach to the governor’s office. The PAC is made up of NFIB members from across Wisconsin, with endorsements based on candidates’ records and positions on issues affecting small businesses.
“Congressman Tom Tiffany has consistently shown support for Wisconsin small businesses,” NFIB Wisconsin State Director Luke Bacher said.
Bacher pointed specifically to rising costs and government regulation as challenges facing Main Street businesses and said Tiffany would be a “catalyst for meaningful reform.”
The endorsement comes as Tiffany has increasingly picked up support from Wisconsin business and industry groups. The Dairy Business Association endorsed his campaign in August, citing his positions on agriculture, regulation and the state’s business climate.
Tiffany, who owned and operated a Northwoods excursion business with his wife for two decades before serving in Congress, has made lowering taxes, reducing regulations and cutting energy costs central themes of his campaign for governor.
NFIB has previously backed Tiffany in his congressional campaigns, including endorsing him for reelection to Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District in 2024.
