Update: Mequon Police say Arndt was arrested for disorderly conduct with a hate crime enhancer.
Green Party congressional candidate Matthew Arndt, who is running in Wisconsin’s Sixth Congressional District, was caught on video going on an antisemitic tirade against an Israeli father in Mequon Thursday morning.
The Heartland Post has obtained exclusive video, in which Arndt screams obscenities at the man and identifies himself by name and as a congressional candidate.
Arndt was apparently triggered by the man’s anti-Hamas bumper stickers and cut him off in traffic while screaming at him and flipping the middle finger at him. The man then followed Arndt into a gas station, where Arndt jumps out of his car and immediately begins screaming at him while continuing to flip the middle finger.
“F*** you!” Arndt can be seen screaming as the man asks him why he is so upset.
“You’re a piece of s***! You’re a f***ing traitor!” Arndt responds. “F*** you, f*** Israel, go f*** yourself!”
Unbelievably, Arndt identifies himself as a congressional candidate while daring the man to post the video he was recording to social media.
“You know what? Go post it on f***ing social media! I’m running for Congress here in the Sixth Congressional District and f*** Israel!” Arndt screams. “Go f*** yourself! F*** the Israel lobby and f*** the neocons!”
“Wow, you’re running for Congress?” the man asks incredulously.
“Yeah, and you’re a piece of s***!” Arndt responds.
“Wow, I’m definitely gonna post this!” the man responds.
“Yeah, you post that, motherf***er!” Arndt screams. “The whole country is against you! You and all these f***ers that are voting to merge our military with Israel’s are f***ing traitors! ” as the man asks him his name.
“What’s your name?” the man asks.
“Free Palestine!” Arndt answers. “It’s Matthew Arndt!”
Arndt then yells one final “F*** you!” at the man and gets in his SUV to drive off before the video ends. The Heartland Post is not naming the man who shot it to protect his identity.
Arndt, 54, is the Wisconsin Green Party candidate for the U.S. House in Wisconsin’s Sixth Congressional District. He is one of several challengers to Republican incumbent Glenn Grothman in next month’s general election alongside Democrat Brad Smith and independents Mike Thurow and Elizabeth Fitzgibbon.
A first-time candidate, Arndt filed to run with the Federal Election Commission in May 2026 and describes himself as “a father, a husband, a CPA, a financial advisor, and a small-business owner.”
“The public-policy issues I am most passionate about tend to come back to one central concern: the concentration of economic and political power,” he recently told Ballotpedia in a candidate questionnaire. “I am deeply interested in antitrust policy, monopolies, Wall Street, private equity, and corporate consolidation.
“I am particularly concerned about what happens when large institutions accumulate enough power to dominate markets, influence government policy, and leave workers, small businesses, family farmers, and consumers with fewer meaningful choices.”
