Green Bay police responded to 29 calls for service during the Green Bay Packers’ 23-13 victory over the Dallas Cowboys in a Sunday Night Football matchup at Lambeau Field, resulting in 16 fans being ejected and six people arrested.
Officers responded to a mix of medical calls, disorderly behavior, and possibly other fan code-of-conduct violations during the Oct. 18 game, according to the Green Bay Police Department. Local outlets FOX 11 News and WFRV Local 5 reported the police call totals were much higher than normal home games and other stadium events.
During the Packers’ Oct. 11 win over the Chicago Bears, police reported 15 calls, seven ejections, and zero arrests. The season’s home opener against the Atlanta Falcons drew 25 calls but only two ejections and no arrests. A September college football game between Wisconsin and Notre Dame at Lambeau produced 32 calls, one arrest, and 10 ejections.
Police statements and local reporting did not specify the exact nature of the individual violations or charges. Historically at Lambeau, ejections and arrests have often involved alcohol-related conduct or other code-of-conduct issues, however no such breakdown was released for the Cowboys game.
On the field, the Packers improved to 4-2 with their third straight win. Quarterback Jordan Love had two touchdowns (one passing, one rushing/sneak) with Green Bay leading 17-0 at halftime. Dallas fell to 2-4. Attendance was reported at roughly 77,383.
A brief pregame scuffle between players before kickoff also took place. The Packers travel to face the Detroit Lions next before returning to Lambeau on Oct. 29 to host the Carolina Panthers. Local police and stadium officials have not released further details on the incidents.
