Kate Spitz, owner of Spitz Mediation Services in Pewaukee and a veteran civil litigator with nearly two decades of courtroom experience, has announced her candidacy for Waukesha County Circuit Court Judge in the 11th branch.
The seat will open following Judge William Domina’s retirement. The nonpartisan spring election is scheduled for April 6, 2027.
Spitz previously worked as an associate at an AmLaw 100 firm, served as an assistant attorney general at the Wisconsin Department of Justice, where she supervised the civil litigation unit’s property and eminent domain section, and practiced at a public interest firm. She has litigated hundreds of cases through dispositive motions and has taken numerous matters to verdict in both state and federal courts. Her experience includes cases involving eminent domain, civil rights, commercial disputes, product liability, employment discrimination, and tax litigation.
A graduate of the University of Notre Dame, where she earned both her undergraduate and law degrees, Spitz currently serves as a supplemental court commissioner in Waukesha County. She is also actively involved with the Waukesha County Bar Association and has collaborated on litigation with the Wisconsin Institute for Law & Liberty.
Spitz announced her campaign on LinkedIn, highlighting her commitment to impartial justice, integrity, and efficient dispute resolution, supported by her extensive trial and mediation experience. She has also completed specialized training in mediation techniques.
