Francesca has managed a great campaign thus far. She took a long shot bid, fueled by small donors and is beating the breaks off every other Democrat in the primary. She is going toe-to-toe with a popular Tony Evers endorsement and seems poised to win on August 11th.
Unfortunately for Democrats, her past comments have not been heavily scrutinized until now. Establishment Democrats have been praying that Hong would fail to gain traction without having to drop her true personality out in the open. Regardless of why they didn’t, Hong’s past is now in the open and conservatives are feasting. These comments have laid dormant for years, but Hong’s recent Fox News interview catapulted her to a new level of stardom and thus the extra scrutiny.
Littered between her past posts about “birthing bodies” and trying to cancel Thanksgiving, she seems to have an animosity for white people and a fixation for seeing white supremacy in everything.
In July 2019, Hong wrote about a Culver’s stop in Black River Falls: “I ate two bites of my kid’s cheeseburger at a Culver’s in black river falls and told him they ran out of ice cream. Mostly just wanted to leave bc I was on the verge of a anxiety attack…to many old white people who didn’t think we spoke english.”
I’m glad she had the thought to at least correct her grammar in a follow up post, but failed to remove her slight against “old white people.” Does Francesca know she has to win 50.1% of the state of Wisconsin to become Governor? Additionally, does she know that 80% of Wisconsinites are white people? Seems like a loosing strategy and a great way to alienate voters. Not to mention the absolute disqualifying act of calling custard “ice cream.”
In April 2020 she targeted white male chefs: “White male chefs…. before you sign up for charity gigs and shit that’s going give you good press… look around the room and check if there is someone that 1) you haven’t shared a meal with 2) doesn’t have the same genitals 3) has nicer skin than you.”
Why does Francesca seem so serious about observing things through a sex and a racial lens? “Has nicer skin than you,” I fear can only be interpreted as someone of a different race. Do people of other races all have nicer skin than white males? Why would anyone even feel the need to say this? I only have questions and someday I hope Hong has to answer for this questionable post.
In March 2020 Sen. Elizabeth Warren dropped out of the Democrat primary for President. Hong thanked Sen. Warren and added: “The layers of bullshit in this country is too much today. Don’t worry I’ll still vote for the less qualified blue white dude but I’ll be fucking mad as fucking hell about it.” No context, no commentary, and no explanation why having to vote for a “white dude” makes her so upset.
The comments don’t end just there. For a few honorable mentions, Francesca Hong’s Chief of Staff, Nada Elmikashfi, is certainly no fan of white people and is more direct in her criticism.
She posted in 2020, “White women are not white supremacy adjacent, they are agents of it. Saying they vote as their husbands tell them is to diminish their long history of active racism.” Just an incredible level of candor displayed by someone who advises Hong.
If you are curious, go to Francesca Hong’s social media and do a profile search of the word “white.” You’ll find more flippant comments to more serious accusations littered throughout over the years. Everything from police exist to uphold white supremacy to having to restructure our politics to undone white supremacy.
Hong’s past comments are just now coming to light and it is perfect timing for Republicans as the general election begins. She must answer for these as someone who wishes to occupy the highest constitutional office in Wisconsin.
