U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested 39 people in Wisconsin over the weekend, the agency said Tuesday.ICE identified those arrested as illegal immigrants. Many had criminal histories that included sexual assault, driving under the influence, police obstruction, domestic abuse, property damage, dangerous drug possession and other crimes, according to the agency.
“All of the illegal aliens arrested have or will receive full due process. They will remain in ICE custody pending their removal or removal proceedings,” ICE said in a statement.
The agency also promoted a self-deportation option.
“Being in detention is a choice. We encourage all illegal aliens to take control of their departure with the CBP Home App,” the statement said. “The United States is offering illegal aliens $2,600 and a free flight to self-deport now. We encourage every person here illegally to take advantage of this offer and reserve the chance to come back to the U.S. the right legal way to live the American dream. If not, you will be arrested and deported without a chance to return.”
The arrests followed targeted operations conducted by ICE in the state. Immigrant rights groups in Milwaukee reported elevated ICE activity over the weekend and issued community alerts.
ICE did not immediately release additional details on the specific locations of the arrests within Wisconsin or the nationalities of those detained.
The agency has increased enforcement actions nationwide in 2026.
