Milwaukee Police have arrested a 14-year-old boy in connection with the shooting death of a 35-year-old man in the Walker’s Point neighborhood last week.
A 14-year-old boy was arrested Monday in connection with the shooting death of 35-year-old David Leo Krause in Milwaukee’s Walker’s Point neighborhood.
Krause was shot and killed around 7:45 p.m. on April 14 in an alley on the 100 block of East Greenfield Avenue. Police responded to reports of a shooting and found Krause with fatal gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office.
A person of interest was taken into custody the following day, and the 14-year-old suspect was arrested on Monday, Milwaukee Police said. The department stated it continues to seek additional known suspects and has not released further details about the incident or possible motive.
Family members described Krause as a kind-hearted man who graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and always sought to spread love and build connections with others. They said the shooting appeared random, possibly occurring as Krause sought shelter from severe weather in the area.
