Tom Tiffany said Wisconsin must act as a firewall against socialism during an appearance on the Benjamin Yount Show on June 25.
Tiffany argued Democrats in the governor’s race would impose a socialist agenda on Wisconsin residents. He said it would not matter if the nominee is Francesca Hong, Mandela Barnes, or Sara Rodriguez, claiming all would pursue similar policies.
“This is the firewall to stop socialism because if we don’t stop it now, it is going to continue across the country,” he said. “And make no doubt about it, it doesn’t matter whether it’s Francesca Hong, Mandela Barnes, Sarah Rodriguez, they’re all going to do the same thing.
“Think about Joe Biden in 2020 when he became president, who did he outsource policy to? To Bernie Sanders. Bernie Sanders’ agenda is what was enacted in the first couple of years of the Biden administration. They’re going to do the same thing, whether Francesca Hong is the governor or not.
“If it’s a Democrat, they’re going to outsource that agenda, which will be the socialist agenda on the people of the state of Wisconsin. So people should not be sanguine about this issue.”
Tiffany pointed to what he called an “immigrants first” approach among Democrat candidates. He said Hong and other Democrats have made clear that immigrants come first while Wisconsinites come last. Tiffany specifically referenced comments Hong made at a recent WISDOM candidate forum, where she called for taxpayer-supported car seats and car repairs for illegal immigrants.
Tiffany said Democrats are advancing policies that prioritize those in the country illegally over Wisconsin residents. He stated there is no other way to interpret the positions in the Democratic primary.
Tiffany vowed to stop the advance of socialism in Wisconsin, saying if it is not stopped now, it will spread across the country as socialist candidates continue to dominate Democrat primaries and steadily take over the party.
“People should never underestimate what they are attempting to do to America,” he explained. “They are trying to undermine it.
This comes on the heels of the national progressive group Our Revolution announcing its endorsement of Hong for governor. The organization, aligned with Sen. Bernie Sanders, praised Hong. It highlighted her support for universal childcare, tenant rights, and other far-left progressive ideas.
Socialist candidates won multiple congressional and state legislative primaries in New York Tuesday, ousting more moderate Democrat incumbents and alarming political observers who note the rapid advances of the far-left.
“All you have to do is look at the last major country to adopt socialism. That was Venezuela,” Tiffany warned. “And they did it over the course of about ten to fifteen years. They kept pressing, the socialists kept pressing, and ultimately they took over the country and destroyed it.
“And I think the perfect metaphor for what happened was they were finally eating the zoo animals in Venezuela when socialism fully came to bear. Think about it, the zoo animals were being eaten. So people should never underestimate the power of this message of free stuff.”
