Decision Desk HQ projected David Crowley the winner of the Wisconsin governor’s race Tuesday night, calling it at 9:20 p.m. Central and handing Democrats another four years in the governor’s office.
Crowley, the Milwaukee County Executive, defeated Republican Tom Tiffany, the northern Wisconsin congressman who ran on cutting taxes and putting more money back in the pockets of working families.
That’s the trade Wisconsin just made. Tiffany offered a path to lower income taxes and a state government that lives within its means. Voters went with the guy who ran Milwaukee County.
If you want to know what Crowley’s Wisconsin looks like, look at Milwaukee County. Higher taxes, a sales tax hike, and a government that always seems to need more of your money to deliver less. Now that approach moves to Madison.
