Wisconsin State Rep. Francesca Hong, the Democratic Socialists of America’s latest darling and the frontrunner in the state’s Democratic primary for governor, has surfaced in a new video gleefully calling to ’86’ President Donald Trump.
In the footage, Hong, a former executive chef and restaurant owner, first explains the kitchen slang: ‘In the restaurant industry, when we’re out of something, we say it’s 86’d.’ She then delivers her punchline: ‘And I’d say it’s about f***ing time we 86 Trump.’
The clip spread rapidly beginning Aug. 3 after being posted by RNC Research and amplified by accounts including The Post Millennial and Libs of TikTok.
Hong, 37, represents Madison’s 76th Assembly District and is a member of the Democratic Socialists of America. She has worked in the restaurant industry and was executive chef at 43 North before co-owning Morris Ramen with her husband, which closed in 2024. She still occasionally works shifts as a bartender. The “86” slang she references is standard industry language meaning an item is unavailable or should be removed; it is also used to describe ejecting a customer or discarding something unwanted.
The timing here is hardly coincidental. President Trump has already survived two assassination attempts, and let’s not forget former FBI Director James Comey’s Instagram post with seashells spelling out ’86 47′ triggered a federal investigation and indictment proceedings for similar coded threats against Trump, the would-be 47th president.
Hong has previously described Trump as a “traitor” in interviews and has a record of progressive positions that include past calls to defund or abolish the police, which she has since said she would not pursue as governor. This video is the latest in a long line of videos and comments that should be considered disqualifying.
