The Wisconsin Federation of Republican Women confirmed Thursday that it has no record of a $1,500 transfer reported in Lt. Gov. Sara Rodriguez’s gubernatorial campaign finance filing.
The organization filed a formal complaint with the Wisconsin Ethics Commission seeking an investigation into the discrepancy. Rodriguez’s campaign listed the $1,500 as a transfer to the group on February 17, 2026, in the “Transfers Out to Other Registrants” section.
The group stressed it would never have accepted money from a Democratic candidate. “Had this money reached us, we would not have accepted it,” the release said. “Our organization does not take contributions from Democratic candidates.”
The Wisconsin Federation of Republican Women called the missing funds one more example in a pattern of reporting issues. The organization noted that Rodriguez recently fired her campaign manager Kara Spencer after the campaign admitted to double-counted contributions and hundreds of thousands of dollars in unreported expenses.
“Against that backdrop, a $1,500 line item that we can confirm never reached our organization is not a minor footnote,” the release stated. “It’s one more entry in a growing list of numbers on Sara Rodriguez’s campaign filings that don’t match reality.”
The incident adds fresh scrutiny to Rodriguez’s campaign operations as the Democratic lieutenant governor pursues higher office in Wisconsin.
